Secrets of the Dead is a television show that sheds new light on mankind's past. Myths and historic moments in history are fully investigated by a team of investigators. Experts are brought in to be part of the investigation team to study and research the specific episodes subject. Investigations are done professionally by experts in their field who are fully qualified. The latest scientific tools and historical examinations help this group of investigators bring new found wisdom to their viewers.

The long time running show is a PBS television series and is produced by Thirteen/WNET New York. It has been a very successful show even though at many times it has not had a regular viewing schedule. Liev Schreiber is the shows main star as he serves as the shows Narrator. There have been many different stars of the show as each show brings a need of new experts that specialize in certain fields. Fawzi Gaballah, Addison Bain, Martin Biddle and Egyptologist Joann Fletcher have been just a few of the many that have starred on the program.

The mysterious subject on each episode is always different. Many interesting and historic topics have been covered on the show. A few of these topics and investigations have included the Titanic, Blackbeard's lost ship, amazon warrior women, China's terracotta warriors, the first English bible and the worlds biggest bomb.

The show gives out a challenging aspect to its viewers as beliefs that have been accepted for centuries are questioned. The investigative team uses modern technology to bring truths about the great mysteries of past historic events. By using first hand accounts the team works to dig up answers that have been hidden for one reason or another.

This long running series has been rewarded on numerous occasions. At the U.S. International Film and Video Festival it won 5 Gold Camera Awards. Ten CINE Golden Eagle Awards have also been won. Many news and documentary nominations have also capped off this shows numerous honors.
