Maria spends the day looking after everyone's pets while her neighbors tend to other tasks. She manages a variety of pets and helps them -- including a bird, a kitten (Markel), etc. At the end of the day, after all the pets are retrieved by their owners, Maria sighs in relief at having "alone time," and Big Bird and the pets head off.
