As they make their preparations, Alastor reveals to Shana the true history of the Flame Haze and the Crimson Denizens. The ancient conflict stretches back millennia, and the Flame Haze have been fighting to maintain the balance between worlds. However, as the war drags on, some Flame Haze have begun to question their duty, including a renegade group known as "Bal Masqué."

As the Denizen draws closer, Yuji and Shana lead a group of Flame Haze and allies against it. However, when the battle begins, things quickly take a turn for the worse. The Denizen proves to be far more powerful than anyone anticipated, and the Flame Haze struggle to hold their ground.
