Moshe finds himself in a difficult position in season 1 episode 12 of Shtisel. Left without a place to rest his head, Moshe turns to Lippe for help. As Lippe tries to assess the situation, Moshe confides in him that he's been sleeping in a shul and hasn't eaten in days.

At the same time, we see Tzvi Arye and his wife struggling with their own set of problems. While Tzvi Arye's wife tries to play the role of dutiful wife and support her husband through his campaign, Tzvi Arye seems to be more focused on winning the race, even at the expense of his family. Tzvi Arye's distracted behavior is particularly upsetting to his daughter, Giti, who feels neglected and unimportant.

Meanwhile, Shulem continues his attempts to spy on Akiva's relationship with Elisheva. Although Akiva and Elisheva try to keep their interactions on the down-low, Shulem becomes increasingly suspicious of their friendship. With the help of Yosa'le, however, Akiva manages to stage a distraction that throws Shulem off their scent.

As the episode progresses, Lippe tries his best to care for Moshe. He gives him food and even arranges for a place for Moshe to sleep. However, Moshe's mental state seems to be rapidly declining, and the weight of his troubles seems to be taking a toll on Lippe as well.

In a particularly touching scene, Lippe confides in his wife, Tova. He tells her about Moshe and the weight of the responsibility he feels to care for him. Tova responds with compassion and understanding, and encourages Lippe to continue doing whatever he can to help Moshe.

In the final moments of the episode, we see Akiva and Elisheva growing closer. After spending the day working on her paintings, Elisheva invites Akiva to share a meal with her. As they sit together at her kitchen table, Akiva seems to let himself relax for the first time in ages, smiling and laughing freely with Elisheva.

Overall, episode 12 of Shtisel continues the show's poignant exploration of family, love, and human connection. Through the characters' struggles, we see the complexities of life in the ultra-Orthodox community and the deeply human desire for love and acceptance. As we watch Moshe, Tzi Arye, and Shulem navigate their own challenges, we are reminded of the universal nature of struggle and the comforting power of genuine empathy and compassion.
