Ep 4. Last Days

Arturo, Quinn, Rembrandt, and Wade discover themselves in a world that is on the brink of complete destruction. The world's foremost expert on the approaching disaster is found to be Wade's ex-boyfriend, who is initially terrified when he encounters the Sliders because he has been expecting government officials to arrive and help him to evacuate. The Sliders initially have no idea of what is happening to the world until they listen to the rippling sound from the sky that causes everything to disintegrate.

A catastrophic event known as the 'Big One' has ensured that San Francisco, where the Sliders are at the moment, will be destroyed in the coming days. The Sliders determine that they need to paddle a portal to a different material without the capacity to destroy San Francisco if they are unable to return to their earth in time.

The problem confronted by the Sliders before them is that the next sliding window isn't until after the Big One takes place. With the assistance of Wade's ex-boyfriend, Rembrandt gets to the beach where the window to the parallel universe is determined to be. A group known as the 'Last Woman's Club' comes to their rescue, urging them to withdraw from San Francisco and flee to a safer area.

Rembrandt and the Club agree to leave to travel to the sliding spot. However, before that, Rembrandt has a conflict with the group's leader. The leader tells Rembrandt that if he had any sympathy, he would remain with the Last Woman's Club and allow some people to transfer with them, but not everyone would be able to make it. Rembrandt disagrees, stating that everybody has the right to survive.

The Last Woman's Club eventually provides enough cover for the Sliders to go to the sliding spot. Arturo, Wade, and Quinn slide, but unfortunately for Rembrandt, he is left behind due to the difficulty of rescuing a slew of people. Rembrandt believes his absence is his destiny, but he is worried for his wellbeing.

The Sliders arrive in a post-apocalyptic landscape where a nuclear war destroyed the earth. The Sliders have discovered that the people still alive are terrified, hostile, and extremely aggressive. Furthermore, a massive tornado is on the brink of striking the location where they arrived, and they have just ten minutes to escape.

The Sliders try to find a new window and occur upon a scientist who can make use of a remote device as a decoy, sending the tornado that is on their tail off track to a different destination, which gives them the time they require to slide to the next window.

The Sliders figure that they had traversed the remaining minutes of their life twice. Arturo is already feeling the effects of traveling a parallel universe twice. They manage to slide into another world that appears to be pretty peaceful and calm, with no emergency predicted at the time.

The Sliders had discovered themselves on a beach surrounded by calm and genteel people, but after a while, they found that this world was not threatened by the catastrophic occurrence faced in the other earths. Everything seemed idyllic, which made Quinn doubt that something was wrong, and an unusual occurrence starts to happen.

In summary, the Sliders find themselves traveling to parallel universes in the hope of finding one that is not going to be destroyed imminently. They face a wide array of problems in these parallel Earths and must always be on the lookout for new troubles that they will encounter. The season 1 episode 4 of Sliders, named Last Days, are an adventure-packed traveling episode that leaves the viewers on the edge of their seats.
