Ep 9. Rogue

Clark and Pete decide to show Lex around the town and other popular hangouts, hoping to persuade him to invest in Smallville's near-demolished movie theatre. When a group of thieves begin to rob people in Smallville, Clark is able to stop them before they are able to finish the job. However, he begins to realize that one of the thieves was able to get away and plans on killing a man who put him in prison. With the help of Lex, Clark and Pete must try to find the fugitive before he can cause harm to anyone in Smallville.

As they begin their search for the rogue, Clark discovers that the thief, Eric Marsh, was actually framed and wrongfully accused for a crime he never committed. Now out for revenge, Eric is determined to take down those who put him away, starting with the man who falsely accused him. Clark is conflicted on how to handle the situation as he is unable to reveal his true powers to Lex, fearing that this may cause more problems.

Meanwhile, Lana is given a scholarship to go to Paris which makes things difficult between her and Clark, as they struggle with their own feelings and the possibility of being separated. In addition, Whitney deals with the aftermath of his father's sudden death as he tries to figure out how to provide for his family. With so much going on, Clark has to balance his own problems while also trying to keep everyone around him safe.

As the search for Eric Marsh continues, Clark and Pete must navigate through the small town, trying to track down leads as to his whereabouts. With the clock ticking, Eric is determined to finish what he started and take revenge on those who wronged him. With the future of Smallville in the balance, Clark must use his powers to stop Eric before things spiral out of control.
