The episode "One" is the 25th episode of the fourth season of the science fiction television series Star Trek: Voyager. In this episode, the crew of the starship USS Voyager encounters a dangerous nebula that requires them to evacuate the ship and find a way to survive for months in a cramped, temporally unstable shuttlecraft. In particular, the focus of the episode is on Seven of Nine, a former Borg drone who has only recently joined Voyager's crew, and who finds herself isolated and struggling to cope with the isolation and sensory deprivation of the shuttlecraft.

As the episode begins, Voyager is investigating a dangerous subspace nebula, but the ship is suddenly hit by a powerful blast that knocks out its systems and forces the crew to abandon ship in shuttlecraft. Seven of Nine, along with Captain Janeway and a handful of other crew members, find themselves stranded in a shuttle that is barely large enough to accommodate them all. Worse still, the shuttle is caught in the unstable temporal field of the nebula, which causes bizarre hallucinations and other psychological effects.

As the days pass, Seven of Nine begins to experience the full force of the isolation and sensory deprivation of the shuttlecraft. Her Borg implants, which have always given her a heightened ability to perceive and process sensory data, become a liability in the cramped, featureless environment of the shuttle. She becomes increasingly agitated and restless, unable to focus on anything for more than a few moments before becoming overwhelmed by the monotony and sensory deprivation.

Despite the efforts of Captain Janeway and the other crew members to keep her engaged and occupied, Seven of Nine becomes increasingly isolated and withdrawn. She begins to experience intense hallucinations and delusions, and fears that she is losing her grip on reality. In particular, she becomes obsessed with the number "One", which she believes to be the key to understanding the temporal instability of the nebula.

As the weeks turn into months, the crew of the shuttlecraft become increasingly desperate. They are running out of food and resources, and the constant exposure to the temporal instability of the nebula is taking its toll on their physical and mental health. Seven of Nine, in particular, becomes increasingly erratic and unpredictable, causing tension and conflict among the crew.

Ultimately, it is Seven of Nine herself who discovers the key to the temporal instability of the nebula, using her unique ability to perceive and process sensory data to uncover a pattern that had eluded the rest of the crew. With her help, the crew is able to navigate their way out of the nebula and back to safety.

The episode "One" is a powerful exploration of the themes of isolation, sensory deprivation, and the struggle to maintain sanity in extreme situations. It is also a showcase for the character of Seven of Nine, who is still new to the crew of Voyager and struggling to find her place among them. Throughout the episode, we see her battling her own inner demons while also trying to help the rest of the crew survive in a hostile and unforgiving environment. The result is a compelling and emotionally resonant episode that stands out as one of the highlights of the series.
