Star Wars: Ewoks Season 1 Episode 3 Rampage of the Phlogs
- September 21, 1985
On the third episode of the first season of Star Wars: Ewoks, entitled "Rampage of the Phlogs", we find the forest moon of Endor under attack of a new enemy: the Phlogs.
The episode begins with the Ewok Wicket and his friends Teebo and Latara playing around the forest when they hear a weird noise coming from a nearby swamp. Cautiously, they approach the area and discover that a strange creature shaped like a ping-pong ball is stuck in the mud. The creature, whose name is Morag, is a Phlog, a species of aliens that arrived at Endor recently. Moarg explains to the Ewoks that the Phlogs were searching for a new home and found Endor, but the Ewok's world lacked the technology to welcome them.
The Ewoks are friendly with Morag and decide to help her get out of the swamp. However, they stumble upon a Phlog encampment and are captured by the aliens. The Phlogs are preparing to conquer the forest moon and exterminate the Ewok population, which they consider primitive and uncivilized.
Inside the Phlog camp, Wicket comes up with a plan to rescue his friends and stop the attackers. He convinces Morag to join forces with the Ewoks and sabotage the Phlog's power generator, disabling their weapons and defenses. To make things more challenging, the Phlogs have put Teebo and Latara in cages, intending to sell them as pets.
Wicket and Morag sneak into the Phlog's headquarters and find themselves facing the vicious madam Druge, the commander of the Phlog troops. Druge is a massive creature with tentacles and sharp teeth, and she is not afraid to use them. Wicket and Morag barely escape Druge's grasp and manage to destroy the power generator, causing a blackout in the camp.
In the confusion, Teebo and Latara escape from their cages and start freeing the other imprisoned Ewoks. Chaos ensues, and the Phlogs are defeated by the Ewoks and their allies.
The episode ends with Morag apologizing for her people's aggression and promising to make amends. She affirms that the Phlogs will leave Endor and seek a new home, respecting the Ewoks' sovereignty. The Ewoks say their farewells to Morag and watch as the Phlogs depart, feeling somewhat grateful for the adventure they just had.
