Super Why! is an animated educational television series that airs on PBS. The program follows the adventures of four fairytale friends who transform into reading-powered superheroes: Alpha Pig, Wonder Red, Princess Presto, and Super Why. Each character has their own unique reading superpower, and together, they embark on exciting adventures to solve literacy-based problems.

The episode titled "Puppy Power!" focuses on the character of Red riding hood and her desire to adopt a puppy. The adventure starts off with Red riding hood asking her mother for a puppy. However, her mother explains that taking care of a pet is a big responsibility that requires a lot of work. As a result, Red has to prove that she can be responsible enough to take care of a puppy.

To do so, Red decides to put on a pet show to showcase her ability to take care of a new puppy. She and her fairytale friends turn to their virtual storybook, which transforms them into "Super Readers" with the ability to read and solve problems in different stories. Each episode of Super Why! focuses on a different fairytale story that the Super Readers must navigate through to reach their goal.

After entering the story of "The Three Little Pigs," the group encounters a puppy who is lost and needs their help getting back home. During this time, they learn about the importance of being responsible pet owners and how to take care of a puppy properly. As the story progresses, the Super Readers encounter various obstacles, but with teamwork and their reading powers, they overcome each challenge.

Throughout the episode, the Super Readers learn valuable lessons about responsibility, teamwork, and the importance of knowledge. They also help other characters within the story, including the puppy they find, by teaching them literacy skills.

One unique aspect of Super Why! is the interactive nature of the program. Children are encouraged to participate by singing along to educational songs, shouting out answers to questions, and completing reading activities throughout the show. The program is designed to enhance children's literacy skills and provide them with the tools they need to succeed in reading and writing.

The animation in Super Why! is colorful, lively, and engaging. The characters are well-defined, with unique personalities that are relatable to children.
