Interlaken in the heart of the Alps and Bern are two wonderful destinations of Switzerland, and historic Thun makes a nice bonus. The advantages of Interlaken are the many hotels, restaurants and shops, and wonderful train and bus connections to get up to some of the world's most spectacular mountain scenery. Everything is very compact in Bern's old town which you can easily see in a few hours.
