A glimpse of Frank’s relationship with his mother is shown with his descriptive response. The documentary focuses on the daily life in a California prison in 1977.

There are youths with cases similar to Brian who resides there for possession of a BB gun. He was to serve three months and end up serving three years. Marcus and Ronnie’s interaction with the guards will reveal emotions of the juveniles. The documentary reveals youths receiving education, religion, and aid for mental health.
