Tayutama: Kiss on My Deity is a 12-episode anime series that premiered in Japan in April 2009. The series is based on a visual novel of the same name, which was published by Lump of Sugar in 2008. Tayutama: Kiss on My Deity was produced by Studio Silver Link, and directed by Keitaro Motonaga.

The series follows a young high school student named Yuuri Mito, who returns to his hometown after several years away. Once there, he finds himself caught up in a world of ancient and powerful spirits known as the Tayutai. These spirits have long been worshipped by the local people, but as their power waned and people began to forget about them, they retreated into hiding.

Yuuri soon discovers that he has a connection to the Tayutai, and is able to see the spirits that others cannot. After an accident in which he inadvertently frees a powerful Tayutai named Kikuramikami no Hime from her shrine, Yuuri finds himself forced to help her find and collect the other Tayutai who have been awakened by the rogue spirit. Along the way, Yuuri is joined by several other characters, including his childhood friend Ameri Kawai, as well as several Tayutai and their human Guardians.

The main character of the series is Yuuri Mito, a high school student who returns to his hometown after several years away. He is a well-meaning but somewhat naive young man who is initially unaware of the world of the Tayutai. Yuuri is voiced by Satoshi Hino in the Japanese version of the series.

Ameri Kawai is Yuuri's childhood friend, and the daughter of the local Shinto priest. She is very serious and level-headed, and serves as a sort of straight-man to the rest of the cast. Ameri is voiced by Kaori Mizuhashi in the Japanese version of the series.

Kikuramikami no Hime is a powerful Tayutai who is accidentally released from her shrine by Yuuri. She initially comes across as cold and calculating, but as the series progresses she develops a softer side. Kikuramikami no Hime is voiced by Noriko Rikimaru in the Japanese version of the series.

Mashiro Mito is a Tayutai who serves as Yuuri's protector. She is very playful and mischievous, and has a tendency to speak in third person. Despite her childlike demeanor, she is very skilled in combat. Mashiro is voiced by Asami Shimoda in the Japanese version of the series.

Nue is another Tayutai who joins Yuuri's group. She is a quiet and reserved individual who is deeply loyal to Kikuramikami no Hime. Nue is voiced by Shizuka Ito in the Japanese version of the series.

The series features a large ensemble cast, with numerous other characters appearing over the course of the series. Despite the large cast, however, the series is primarily focused on Yuuri and his interactions with the Tayutai.

The animation in Tayutama: Kiss on My Deity is generally of good quality, with some particularly impressive action scenes. The character designs are attractive and distinctive, with each Tayutai possessing a unique and memorable appearance. The soundtrack is also notable, with a number of memorable and catchy tracks.

Overall, Tayutama: Kiss on My Deity is an enjoyable anime series that blends together elements of romance, comedy, and action. While the series does have some flaws, such as its occasionally slow pacing and tendency towards melodrama, it is ultimately a fun and entertaining series that is sure to please fans of the genre.
