In Tears to Tiara season 1 episode 16 titled "Reason to Fight," the situation in the kingdom of Gaels intensifies as Arawn and his army begin to make their move towards its capital. Meanwhile, Riannon is still being held captive by the Holy Empire's agents and Arawn's nonchalance towards her seems to have only worsened her situation. With the morale of the Gael spirits at an all-time low, Arthur barely manages to convince them to stand and fight to protect their homeland.

As preparations are being made for the upcoming battle, the Gael spirits take some time to reflect on their reasons for fighting. For Rathy, it's the desire to protect her younger siblings and live in a world where she can be proud of her Gaels' heritage. Octavia is fighting to prove her worth and loyalty to Arawn while also fulfilling her own ambition of becoming a general. Lyrical's reasons are more personal as she hopes to avenge her fallen comrades from a previous battle. And for Ogam, it's the responsibility he feels as the village elder and spiritual leader of the Gaels.

As the battle commences, it quickly becomes clear that the Holy Empire's alliance with the fairies has only made the situation worse for the Gaels. With the enemy's powerful magic and superior numbers, the Gael spirits find themselves struggling to hold their ground. However, they refuse to back down and continue to stand firm in their resolve to protect their land.

In the midst of the battle, Arawn and Arthur engage in a fierce fight against Gaius, the Holy Emperor himself. Arawn's powers are put to the test as he faces off against the man responsible for his own tragic past. Meanwhile, Riannon manages to escape her captors and joins the battle on the front lines, determined to fight with her fellow Gaels.

As the battle reaches its climax, the Gael's determination and bravery shine through as they fight against all odds. Lyrical's vengeance is finally fulfilled, Rathy protects her siblings, and Octavia proves her loyalty to Arawn. Even Ogam, who had previously refused to fight, joins in the effort to defend their home.

In the aftermath of the battle, the Gaels are left to pick up the pieces as they mourn their fallen comrades and try to come to terms with the devastation wrought by the Holy Empire's invasion. However, with their newfound sense of unity and determination, they are confident in their ability to overcome any future challenges that may arise. As the season approaches its final episodes, it remains to be seen what kind of trials they will face next.
