Ep 3. Mother Dearest

Raven Baxter is back with a hilarious new episode in season one of That's So Raven. In episode three, titled "Mother Dearest," we find Raven struggling to deal with her overbearing and slightly embarrassing mother, Tanya. Tanya is in town for a visit, and she can't seem to stop meddling in Raven's life, even going so far as to make her a lunch and sneakily slipping a note inside. She's determined to make an outfit that impresses her teacher, Ms. Romano, but she's struggling to come up with a creative idea. Luckily, her best friend Chelsea is there to help, suggesting that they create an outfit inspired by Tanya's old clothes. Raven is hesitant at first but eventually agrees, thinking that it might be a good way to show her mom that she appreciates her.

Despite Raven's reservations, the outfit turns out to be a hit, with Ms. Romano singling it out as the best in the class. Raven is thrilled but is also a little worried about what her mom will think when she sees it. Her fears are confirmed when Tanya arrives at her school to surprise her, sees the outfit, and immediately assumes that Raven made it as a dig at her. Raven tries to explain that it was actually meant as a tribute to her mother's fashion sense, but Tanya remains unconvinced.

Throughout the episode, Raven also has to deal with other obstacles, including a pesky little brother who won't leave her alone and a run-in with a boy who seems to be copying all of her fashion designs. But despite the chaos, Raven remains determined to stay true to herself and come up with a solution to her problems.
