In The Beverly Hillbillies season 4 episode 18, entitled "The Buggy," the Clampetts discover that their old-fashioned ways clash with their modern Beverly Hills neighbors when they attempt to ride their horse and buggy around town.

Jed Clampett (played by Buddy Ebsen), his daughter Elly May (played by Donna Douglas), his mother-in-law Granny (played by Irene Ryan), and his nephew Jethro (played by Max Baer Jr.) are all excited to take a leisurely ride in their horse and buggy. However, they quickly realize that their mode of transportation does not fit in with the high society of Beverly Hills.

As they trot through the streets, they cause traffic jams and surprise the locals with their outdated style. They even encounter a group of high school students who mistake their buggy for a prop from a movie set. All the while, the Clampetts remain blissfully unaware of the chaos they are causing.

Their problems escalate when they run into Thelma Lou, the snobbish wife of their neighbor Milburn Drysdale (played by Raymond Bailey). Thelma Lou is horrified by the Clampett's buggy and vows to put an end to their archaic ways. She tries to convince Mrs. Drysdale (played by Harriet E. MacGibbon) to talk sense into Jed, but Mrs. Drysdale is more focused on her own problems.

Meanwhile, Jed is approached by a group of businessmen who offer to buy his land for a large sum of money. Although the offer is tempting, Jed is hesitant to let go of his beloved home. This dilemma leads to some soul-searching for Jed, who starts to question whether he belongs in Beverly Hills or if he should return to his simpler way of life in the hills of Tennessee.

As the Clampetts continue to bumble their way around Beverly Hills, Thelma Lou's plans to get them kicked out of the neighborhood come to a head. However, in the end, it is the Clampetts' kind hearts and pure intentions that win over their neighbors.

"The Buggy" is a lighthearted episode that explores the clash between traditional and modern lifestyles. The characters' interactions are humorous and the message of acceptance and understanding is heartwarming. Fans of The Beverly Hillbillies will enjoy this classic episode.
