Riley Parks has been working hard throughout season 1 of The Client List, juggling her duties as a single mom and her secret life as a masseuse providing happy endings for her clients. In episode 9, "Acting Up," the pressures of keeping her double life a secret start to take a toll on her.
Riley's daughter, Katie, is preparing to audition for the school play, and the stress of it all gets to her. Meanwhile, Riley's friend and fellow masseuse, Selena, is having relationship issues with her boyfriend, Derek. Riley tries to help Selena, but her advice falls on deaf ears.
Riley's own personal issues come to a head when one of her clients, a high-profile actor named Evan, takes a liking to her. The two start up a secret relationship, but when Evan starts to interfere with Riley's personal life, she begins to realize that her secret life may not be worth the cost.
Meanwhile, Riley's brother-in-law, Evan's agent, is trying to convince him to sign for a new movie deal. When Riley accidentally overhears some confidential information about the movie deal, she realizes that Evan's interest in her may be more about leverage than genuine interest.
As the tension between Riley's secret life and her personal life builds, she has to make some tough decisions. Will she choose her family and daughter, or will she continue risking everything for her double life?
From the start, The Client List has been a show full of drama and intrigue, and "Acting Up" is no exception. With its complex characters and intricate storylines, this episode is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
