Ep 2. Dana's Back

It's time for the second episode of The Goldbergs season 7, titled "Dana's Back." In this episode, we see Erica, who is still trying to figure out how her life is supposed to go, trying to get her band to have a gig at the school cafeteria. When she is not successful, she decides to try and get the biggest name in the school, Dana, to come back to school and perform. Dana was a senior and Erica's idol when she was just a freshman, but she left high school after the first semester, causing Erica's dreams of becoming a rockstar to crumble.

Meanwhile, Beverly, Adam, and Barry are kind of obsessed with a new aerobics videotape, and they want everybody to get in on the action. Adam is a bit skeptical about it all, but he is a big fan of his mother's and Barry's enthusiasm. This leads us to some funny moments in the episode as they try to get their family to exercise with them.

Back to Erica's quest to get Dana back to school, she knows it's not going to be easy. She tries to call her, only to find out that her number has been disconnected. Erica is determined though, and she ends up tracking down Dana on Instagram. When she finally makes contact with her, Erica is thrilled. Dana is living in New York and is a part of a band now. Erica doesn't want to take no for an answer, and she works with Murray to convince Beverly to let her go to New York to convince Dana to come back to school.

As Erica prepares for her trip to New York, Beverly is doing everything she can to keep her from going. She tells Erica that it's a bad idea and that she should stay home. However, Erica is stubborn and convinces Murray to take her to New York to meet Dana. When they get there, Erica is over the moon, but things don't go quite as she planned. Dana is hesitant to come back to school and shows little to no interest in performing at the school's cafeteria.

Meanwhile, back at home, Beverly is taking the aerobics video obsession a bit too far. She wants to make her own aerobic video and even wants Adam to record it for her. This leads to some comical moments as Adam tries to avoid being a part of the video.

As the episode progresses, Erica and Murray return home without Dana, and Erica is crushed. She doesn't know what to do now that her hopes of performing at school are once again dashed. Beverly, realizing how upset Erica is, comes up with a plan to help her daughter. Together, they record a song and upload it to YouTube, hoping it will gain some traction and help Erica's dream come true.

In the end, we see our characters coming together to help each other out. Erica's dream of performing at school comes true, and we see her singing with her band in the school cafeteria. Beverly's aerobics obsession ends up being a success, and her family finally gets into the workout spirit. We see the Goldberg family come together and support each other, and that's what makes this episode special.

Overall, "Dana's Back" is an excellent episode of The Goldbergs that showcases the family's bond and how they will do anything to help each other out. It's a fun and heartwarming episode that will leave you feeling good.
