In the second episode of season 6 of The Hills, entitled "Mess With Me, I Mess With You," tensions continue to rise between the show's main character, Kristin Cavallari, and her former friend-turned-enemy, Audrina Patridge.
The episode opens with Kristin and her new love interest, businessman and former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, enjoying a romantic date in Malibu. As they sit on the beach and watch the sunset, Kristin confesses that she's worried about the drama with Audrina and her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bobby, overshadowing her happiness with Jay.
Meanwhile, Audrina is still reeling from her breakup with Ryan Cabrera and struggling to move on. She confides in her friend and co-star Lo Bosworth that she's considering reaching out to Justin Bobby for closure. However, she quickly changes her mind when she hears a rumor that Justin may have kissed Kristin.
The rumor spreads quickly among the show's tight-knit group of friends, and tensions escalate when Kristin confronts Audrina about it at a party. Audrina denies hearing anything about a kiss, but the tension between the two is palpable.
Elsewhere in the episode, Heidi Montag tries to repair her relationship with her mother after a falling out in the previous season. She meets with her mother and tries to convince her that she's turned her life around and is ready to be a good daughter again. However, her mother remains cautious and tells her that actions speak louder than words.
Finally, Brody Jenner and his girlfriend, model Jayde Nicole, plan a surprise birthday party for their mutual friend Frankie Delgado. However, tensions arise when Frankie invites some of Brody's ex-girlfriends to the party. Brody is visibly uncomfortable with the situation, and ultimately decides to leave early.
Overall, the episode sets the stage for what promises to be another drama-filled season of The Hills, as the show's cast deals with the fallout of their past relationships and navigates new romances and friendships.
