Doug and Carrie are excited to attend their friends' anniversary party, but Doug is hesitant to buy them an expensive gift. Meanwhile, Arthur offers to house-sit for a couple down the street, but his helpfulness quickly turns into a nuisance for the neighborhood. As the party approaches, Doug and Carrie struggle to come up with a suitable gift and end up scrambling at the last minute. At the party, Doug’s anxiety about the gift becomes apparent as he desperately tries to impress the couple, while Carrie struggles to keep her composure as she deals with Arthur's antics.
