It's just the two of them, and they must brace themselves to survive the brutal winter without socializing with anyone else. For Heimo, the silence is a sweet symphony, but it's taking a toll on his loving wife, Edna. To keep Edna occupied, Heimo sets out on his snowmobile in search of a Christmas tree, which they will decorate together, and hopefully create a warm, festive atmosphere for the upcoming holidays.

For Charlie, the danger level is rising as he moves closer to the Isle of the Sky. This is one of Alaska's most spectacular sights that has attracted several daredevils over the years. To catch a glimpse of the isle, Charlie must sail through dangerous rapids, avoiding huge rocks, and the raging waves that threaten to capsize his boat. While his journey is thrilling, it's also treacherous and, at times, nerve-wracking.

Lastly, Rick and his nine-year-old daughter, Krin, try their hand at ice fishing as they attempt to catch plenty of Arctic Char before the ice thaws. Despite the frigid water temperatures and venturing into the unknown, Krin remains optimistic and is excited at the prospect of catching a fish all by herself.
