As the episode opens, we are introduced to Vanderbilt, the shipping magnate who controlled the majority of the railroad industry. He is in a heated battle with his former business partner, Daniel Drew, for control of the company. Vanderbilt is determined to come out on top and will stop at nothing to ensure his victory.

Meanwhile, Carnegie, a self-made steel tycoon, is busy building his empire. He is constantly searching for ways to make his business more efficient and cost-effective. His competitive nature and desire to dominate the steel industry puts him on a collision course with his old friend and mentor, Andrew Kloman.

Rockefeller, the owner of Standard Oil, is also looking to expand his business. He is in the process of acquiring smaller oil companies in order to control the market. However, he soon realizes that his monopoly is not going unnoticed and the government is taking notice.

Morgan, the wealthy banker and financier, is looking to invest in Vanderbilt's company. However, Vanderbilt is hesitant to take on debt and does not want to share control of his business. Morgan must come up with a plan to convince Vanderbilt that taking on debt and working with him is the best course of action.

Lastly, we are introduced to Henry Ford, who is currently working as an engineer for the Edison Illuminating Company.
