The Office season 9 episode 7, titled "The Whale", focuses on a new character named Clark Green, who is a temp employee at Dunder Mifflin. Clark is young, ambitious and eager to impress his boss, but he quickly learns that he has a lot to learn about office politics.

The episode opens with Darryl and Jim working on a new sports app, but they are interrupted when Clark comes into the room to ask for their help with a sales pitch. Clark has a meeting with a new potential client, and he wants to make sure that he gets it right. Jim and Darryl agree to help him, and they come up with a plan to impress the client with a song and dance routine.

Meanwhile, Dwight is determined to catch the elusive monster of Schrute Farms, which he believes is a giant squid. He enlists the help of Oscar, who is skeptical of his plan. Dwight's obsession with the monster causes him to miss important work tasks, much to the frustration of Angela.

Pam and Brian are also featured in this episode, as they continue to work on their documentary. Pam is concerned about her relationship with Jim and confides in Brian, who tries to offer her advice. However, his advice ends up causing more harm than good, and Pam finds herself feeling more conflicted than ever.

In the office, a new employee named Nellie has been hired to help train the staff. She is immediately disliked by the majority of the employees, who find her annoying and condescending. However, when she reveals that she is a trained psychologist, the staff begin to warm up to her as they realize that she could be a valuable asset to the company.

As the episode progresses, Clark's meeting with the potential client does not go as planned. He struggles to close the deal and ends up insulting the client, which jeopardizes the entire sale. In a last-ditch effort, Jim and Darryl perform their song and dance routine, which ends up impressing the client enough to salvage the sale.

Back at Schrute Farms, Dwight's obsession with the monster reaches a breaking point when he finally captures it. However, the "monster" turns out to be a harmless fish, leaving Dwight feeling disappointed and embarrassed.

In the end, Pam and Jim have a heart-to-heart conversation about their relationship, and Nellie proves to be a valuable asset to the company after all. The episode ends with Clark reflecting on his mistakes and vowing to do better in the future.

Overall, "The Whale" is an entertaining and humorous episode of The Office, featuring the classic mix of workplace hijinks and awkward social interactions that fans have come to expect from the show.
