Ep 1. Pilot

In the first episode of the fantasy series "The Protector," titled "Pilot," we are introduced to the protagonist Hakan Demir (played by Çağatay Ulusoy) who is struggling to figure out his place in the world. It is then that he realizes that he is the last surviving member of an ancient order called "The Protectors" whose sole responsibility is to keep Istanbul safe from the immortal, evil Immortals. The Immortals are a group of individuals with supernatural powers who have been living among mortals for centuries manipulating the society for their gain.

With the help of his new mentor, the eccentric but wise shop assistant named Mazhar Koroğlu (played by Okan Yalabık), Hakan learns about his ancestral powers and his duty to protect the city of Istanbul from the Immortals. He also discovers that his father had been a Protector and was killed by the Immortals. It dawns on him that the recent assassination of his adoptive father was also their doing. Hakan must now live up to his father's legacy and become the Protector he was born to be.

Meanwhile, the show takes us on a gripping journey, exploring various subplots including the Immortals' plans to establish a new world order; Leyla's secret life as a member of the Loyal Ones, a group of people against the Immortals; The Protectors setting up a base for Hakan to train and learn his powers; and the history of the ancient order of Protectors.

"Pilot" perfectly sets up the groundwork for the rest of the series. It takes viewers into the world of fantasy, mixed with elements of suspense and action, that is beautifully crafted by the show's creators. The episode is visually stunning, with the picturesque city of Istanbul forming the perfect backdrop for this imaginative series. The character development is superb, making it easy for the audience to invest in each character's journey.
