Two detectives, Karl Roebuck and Elise Wassermann, investigate the death of a politician in France. The two work well together and are trained to cover every aspect of a crime scene. While they are exploring the death of the politician, they make a startling discovery. Information that they recover could mean that there is a serial killer targeting other politicians in the area. Karl and Elise have to settle into a routine that will put them at odds at times, but they must lean on each other before the killer brings them into his own world of murder and injustice.
