Tracey Takes On is a comedy sketch series that features actress Tracey Ullman portraying a wide variety of characters, from a British socialite to a middle-aged Jewish deli owner to a Louisiana trailer park resident. Each episode of the show is centered around a particular theme, and the characters go about their separate lives while exploring different aspects of that theme. For episode 9 of season 1, the theme is health.

In this episode, Tracey's characters explore various health-related topics, with a special focus on the American obsession with weight loss. We begin with Fern Rosenthal, a middle-aged woman who is trying to get back into shape after years of neglecting her health. Fern tries every fad diet and exercise craze, but she can't seem to get her weight under control. Meanwhile, Roman Armitage, a male aerobics instructor, shows off his "dance-cercise" moves as he leads a group of mostly elderly women in a workout class.

Next up is bird-watching enthusiast Adelaide, who's thrilled to spot a rare bird but frustrated by her out-of-shape birding partner. Adelaide takes matters into her own hands and tries to get him to join her on a jog, but it doesn't go as planned. Meanwhile, Louisiana trailer park residents Rayleen and Elgar are trying to improve their health by giving up smoking. Tracey's impressions of Rayleen and Elgar provide some much-needed comic relief in an already hilarious episode.

Later, we meet a group of women who are taking part in a self-help workshop led by the charismatic but misguided Carla. Carla is all about promoting a positive body image, but her methods involve such things as lying to yourself and "embracing your inner brownie". Finally, we catch up with a bored and lonely fashion model who turns to extreme dieting to regulate her moods.

Throughout the episode, Tracey's characters provide a humorous look at some of the more absurd aspects of the health industry, from fad diets to exercise crazes to the cult-like devotion some people have for self-help gurus. The show never takes health issues lightly, though, and the humor always comes from a place of empathy and understanding.

In the end, Tracey Takes On: Health is a hilarious and insightful look at the many ways in which people try to improve their health. The characters are relatable and endearing, and Tracey Ullman's talent for portraying a wide range of personalities is on full display. This episode, like all episodes of the show, showcases Ullman's sharp wit, impeccable comedic timing, and tremendous range as an actress. Whether you're a health nut or a couch potato, this episode is sure to make you laugh and maybe even think twice about your own health habits.
