The show Transplant revolves around a Syrian refugee named Bashir "Bash" Hamed who is a doctor by profession. Bashir is on the run from the Syrian war and has landed in Canada as an illegal immigrant. He starts working odd jobs to make ends meet, but his fate takes a turn when he saves the life of a man who is involved in an accident. Bashir gets the man to the hospital and uses his medical knowledge to save his life.

When Bashir enters the ER, he is immediately greeted with a chaotic scene, where the staff is trying their best to save the life of a young boy. Despite the best efforts of the doctors, the boy dies, and Bashir watches in horror as the parents break down. This scene hits close to home for Bashir, who lost his own wife and daughter in the war.

After the chaos settles down, Bashir goes back to his job at a food truck, but his colleague insists that he deserves much better than that. The next day, Bashir goes to a hospital in search of a job, and he runs into a woman named Dr. Magalie "Mags" Leblanc, who is the chief of the ER. Initially, she is hesitant to give him a job because Bashir is an illegal immigrant, but after seeing him in action, she offers him a job as a resident doctor.

Bashir is over the moon with the job offer, and he starts off with the usual duties of a resident doctor, but soon realizes that his experience in Syria is quite different from what he sees in Canada. The attitude of the doctors in Canada is quite different from that of the doctors in Syria, and Bashir has trouble fitting in. He is also reminded of his refugee status by his colleague, who is jealous of him for getting the job.

Bashir's job gets even more complicated when one of the doctors asks him to lie on a patient's record to get her approved for a surgery that she does not need. Bashir is torn between his loyalty to his colleagues and his morals, but he chooses to do the right thing and refuses to go along with the lie.

Meanwhile, Bashir has also been trying to get in touch with his sister who is in Germany, but he has been unable to get through to her. His colleague tells him that he can use a smuggler to get in touch with his sister, but Bashir chooses not to go that route because he does not want to break the law further.

The episode ends with a major accident happening outside the hospital, and Bashir jumps into action to save the people involved. He uses his knowledge to stabilize the patients until the paramedics arrive. After the incident, he finds a message from his sister, saying that she is safe and well.

Overall, the episode does an excellent job of setting up the show, introducing us to the characters, and showing us how Bashir's experiences in Syria differ from what he sees in Canada. It also touches upon themes like ethics, morality, and loyalty, which are sure to be recurring themes throughout the series. With strong performances from the cast and a well-written script, Transplant Season 1 Episode 1 is an excellent start to the series.
