Charlie Harper, the wealthy and womanizing jingle writer, finds himself in a sticky situation when he is tasked with writing a children's song about fire safety. With no experience in this area, Charlie enlists the help of his young nephew Jake to come up with lyrics. However, things take a turn for the worse when Charlie realizes that his lyrics have similarities to a song called "Magoo" that was popular in the 60s.

As Charlie struggles to come up with an original tune, his housekeeper Berta suggests that he seek inspiration from a local children's performer named Freddy, who dresses up in a squirrel costume and sings songs about safety. Charlie reluctantly agrees and attends Freddy's show with Jake in tow.

At the show, Charlie is surprised to see that Freddy is actually a former high school classmate named Freddy Krueger, who Charlie had bullied in the past. Despite their rocky history, Freddy agrees to help Charlie with his song and invites him to his home studio to work on it.

However, when Charlie arrives at Freddy's studio, he discovers that Freddy's obsession with safety has gone too far. Freddy has locked himself in a padded room and refuses to come out until everything in his home is deemed safe. As Charlie struggles to reason with Freddy, Jake accidentally sets off an alarm and sends the entire safety-obsessed studio into chaos.

Meanwhile, Alan Harper, Charlie's uptight brother, is dealing with his own issues. After discovering that his ex-wife, Judith, is getting married again, Alan decides to confront her new fiancé, Herb. However, his plan backfires when Herb reveals that he knows all about Alan's embarrassing past as a chiropractor and uses it to assert his dominance over him.

In the end, Charlie is able to use his experiences with Freddy to come up with a truly original children's song that impresses his clients. Alan reluctantly comes to terms with Herb and realizes that he may have been too quick to judge him. And Jake, well, Jake just continues to be his goofy self and provide comedic relief throughout the episode.

Overall, "I Called Him Magoo" is a typical installment of Two and a Half Men, filled with over-the-top humor and situations that are often too ridiculous to take seriously. But for fans of the show, it's just another entertaining half-hour of television that is sure to leave them laughing.
