Invasion: Texas 2008 is the tenth episode of the first season of UFO Hunters, a documentary-style television series that explores different UFO sightings and phenomena around the world. In this particular episode, the team investigates a series of strange sightings that reportedly took place in Texas during the year 2008, which some people believe to be evidence of an alien invasion taking place.
The episode begins by introducing the team of investigators, which consists of William J. Birnes, a publisher and author; Pat Uskert, a field investigator and journalist; and Jeff Tomlinson, a mechanical engineer. Together, they travel to Texas to interview witnesses and gather evidence about the reported sightings.
According to the witnesses, the sightings began in January 2008 and continued throughout the year. Many people reported seeing strange lights in the sky that moved in unusual ways, as well as triangular-shaped objects that hovered silently in the air. Some even claimed to have seen actual extraterrestrial beings, and there were rumors that the government was covering up the true extent of the invasion.
The team begins their investigation by visiting a local UFO hotspot, where they interview several witnesses. They also use a variety of high-tech equipment, such as night-vision cameras and electromagnetic field detectors, to try and capture evidence of any unusual activity. While they do not find anything conclusive, they do capture some intriguing footage of strange lights in the sky.
Next, the team interviews a local newspaper editor who has been following the story closely. He tells them about a man named Ken Cherry, who claims to have had a close encounter with a UFO and its occupants. Cherry is a former military veteran who is now paralyzed from the waist down, and his story is both compelling and heartbreaking.
Meanwhile, the team hears rumors that the government is conducting secret military operations in the area, possibly in response to the supposed alien invasion. They decide to investigate further, and sneak into a restricted military testing facility to try and uncover any evidence. However, they are quickly apprehended by security and forced to leave.
Despite the lack of definitive proof, the team remains convinced that something strange is happening in Texas. They interview more witnesses, visit the site of a reported UFO crash, and even attempt to communicate with any possible extraterrestrial beings using a homemade crop circle. While they do not find any concrete answers, they do collect a wealth of compelling evidence that suggests that there may indeed be something otherworldly going on.
In the end, the team concludes that the sightings in Texas were likely caused by a combination of factors, including natural phenomena such as ball lightning and military experimentation. However, they remain open to the possibility that there may be other explanations, and continue their search for the truth about UFOs and extraterrestrial life.
