Ep 5. The Prisoner

In Vikings season 5 episode 5, titled "The Prisoner," the focus is on Bjorn and his group of warriors as they continue their journey across the Mediterranean. The episode opens with them being attacked by a group of Arabic horsemen, which leads to a fierce battle between the two sides.

Meanwhile, in Kattegat, Lagertha is dealing with a new threat to her reign as queen. A group of young men, led by a charismatic and handsome warrior named Magnus, claim to be the sons of her deceased husband Ragnar. While Lagertha is initially skeptical, she begins to believe their claims and invites them to join her court.

However, not everyone is happy about the new arrivals. Ubbe, one of Ragnar's real sons, is immediately suspicious of Magnus and his group, seeing them as a threat to his own claim to the throne. This tension begins to boil over into violence as the two sides clash over their different ideas of what it means to be a Viking warrior.

Back on Bjorn's journey, the group comes across a prisoner who has been left to die in the desert. Despite the man's pleas for water, the group debates whether or not to help him. Eventually, Bjorn decides to take the man with them, believing that he might be valuable as a bargaining chip later on.

As they continue on their journey, the group faces a number of challenges, from treacherous terrain to dangerous predators. However, it is the prisoner who proves to be the biggest challenge of all. His arrival causes tensions within the group to come to the surface, as they debate whether or not to trust him and what to do with him if they can't.

Meanwhile, Lagertha's court is shaken by the arrival of a mysterious woman who claims to be a seer. Her predictions of a great battle to come only adds to the already simmering tensions between Ubbe and Magnus, and it becomes clear that there are dark forces at work in Kattegat.

As the episode comes to a close, both Bjorn's group and Lagertha's court are left to face uncertain futures. The prisoner's true intentions remain a mystery, while the rivalry between the two groups threatens to erupt into full-blown conflict at any moment. As always, the fate of the Vikings hangs in the balance.
