In the thirteenth and final episode of Vinland Saga's first season titled "Child of a Hero," the show wraps up its storyline with an intense and gripping finale.

King Sweyn's army continues to hold strong and even adopts a sneaky tactic that endangers Askeladd. But, in a sudden turn of events, Askeladd's true intentions become clear, and he executes a backstabbing move in the middle of the battle, which leads to some of the show's most gruesome scenes.
The consequences of this move set the stage for an emotional climax that profoundly affects all of the characters involved in the conflict, leaving them with heavy hearts as the episode reaches its conclusion.
