This story involves honor, loyalty and slayings. a would-be assassin heads for Texas and a police gun contest. Some retired Rangers are holding a reunion, and on of them anxious to balance a personal hurt, bravely seeks out the killer for reasons of his own. Walker suspects that the killer's target is an oil tycoon turned senator.
