He is surprised to learn that several of his ancestors were involved in politics, including one who served as a speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives. Blair is also able to connect with living relatives who are able to fill in some of the gaps in his family's history and provide him with new insight into his own identity.

Throughout the episode, Blair is deeply moved by the stories of his ancestors and the struggles that they faced.
