Ep 3. Should I Stay or Should I Go

In Wicked City season 1 episode 3, titled "Should I Stay or Should I Go," the tension between Kent and Betty continues to build as they work together to catch a killer. Meanwhile, Jack and Paco investigate a suspicious suicide at a hotel and begin to uncover a larger plot involving the L.A. club scene.

As the episode opens, Kent and Betty are staking out a potential serial killer's apartment, but their differences in approach are causing friction. Betty wants to play it safe and wait for backup, while Kent wants to rush in and confront the suspect. The situation escalates when the suspect unexpectedly shows up and a violent confrontation ensues.

Though they manage to apprehend the suspect, the incident drives a further wedge between Kent and Betty, who both want to be in charge. As they debrief with their boss, Dianne, Kent argues that they should take a more aggressive approach, while Betty pushes for caution. Dianne ultimately decides to let Kent take the lead on the case, much to Betty's chagrin.

Meanwhile, Jack and Paco are investigating the death of a young woman in a hotel room. Though it initially appears to be a suicide, they soon discover evidence that the woman was murdered. The trail leads them to a seedy nightclub where they uncover a larger conspiracy involving drugs and prostitution.

As Jack and Paco dig deeper, they begin to suspect that Kent may be involved in the conspiracy. Their suspicions are only heightened when Kent shows up at the nightclub and confronts one of the suspects, a powerful club owner named Jimmy. Though Kent insists that he's merely trying to gather intel, Jack remains wary of his motives.

The tensions between the detectives come to a head when Kent gets a lead on the serial killer and insists on going after him alone. Betty, worried for his safety, follows him and the two end up in a dangerous standoff with the suspect. Though they ultimately manage to apprehend him, the incident leaves them both shaken and unsure if they can continue working together.

As the episode comes to a close, the investigation into the L.A. club scene continues to unfold, with Jack and Paco uncovering more and more evidence of corruption and criminal activity. With Kent's loyalties still in question, the detectives find themselves facing an increasingly dangerous and unpredictable case.
