Yona of the Dawn is a Japanese anime series based on a manga written and illustrated by Mizuho Kusanagi. The show follows the story of Princess Yona, who sets out to reclaim her kingdom after her father, King Il, is murdered by her childhood friend and love interest, Su-Won.

In season 1 episode 3, titled "The Distant Sky," Yona and Hak set out on their journey to find the legendary Four Dragon Warriors, who are the only ones capable of protecting Yona and helping her take back her kingdom. They travel to a small village located near the border of the Fire Tribe and search for the first Dragon Warrior, who is said to reside there.

Upon their arrival, they are greeted by a group of villagers who initially mistake them for bandits. After explaining their mission, the villagers become wary of Yona, as they believe she is cursed due to her red hair. They tell her that the curse brings misfortune and death to anyone who associates with her.

Despite the villagers' warnings, Yona and Hak continue their search and stumble upon a group of soldiers from the Fire Tribe. The soldiers are under the influence of a mysterious woman named Kum-Ji, who has the power to control minds and turn people into her servants.

Yona and Hak engage the soldiers in a battle but are outnumbered and outmatched. Just when all seems lost, the first Dragon Warrior, named Jae-Ha, appears and aids them in the fight. Jae-Ha is a young man with green hair and eyes, and he possesses the power of flight.

Jae-Ha is initially hesitant to join Yona in her quest, but she convinces him to by revealing a secret about the Four Dragon Warriors that he did not know. She explains that the King's true objective in creating the Dragon Warriors was not to defeat enemies in battle but to bring all the tribes together under one flag, uniting the kingdom. This resonates with Jae-Ha and he decides to join Yona and Hak on their journey.

As they continue their journey, Yona begins to realize the weight of her quest and the importance of her role in bringing the kingdom together. She also learns that she is capable of leading and inspiring others, as many people she meets along the way begin to believe in her cause and join her in her fight.

"The Distant Sky" is a pivotal episode in the Yona of the Dawn series, as it introduces the first Dragon Warrior and sets the stage for Yona's journey to reclaim her kingdom. It also highlights some of the challenges she will face, such as the belief that she is cursed and the existence of powerful enemies like Kum-Ji. Despite these obstacles, Yona remains determined and inspired to bring the kingdom together and restore peace to her people.
