The Glass House is a horror story about a girl named Ruby and her younger brother Rhett who lose their parents suddenly in a car accident. Their parents will states that in the event of their death, their neighbors from years ago, Terry and Erin Glass, where to be the children's new guardians. The Glass's are a married couple who live alone in a huge glass house in Malibu.
As the children start to move into their new home, Ruby right away senses that something is off about the couple. At first Ruby and Rhett have to share a room and they both are switching from being home schooled to going to public school. However, things begin to take a turn for the worst when Ruby begins to feel uncomfortable with Terry because of sexual advances he's made toward her. At one point, Ruby finds Erin on the couch injecting herself with something. She then searches Erin's medicine cabinet to find different vials of pharmaceuticals without prescription labels.
Ruby tried to inform the trust fund lawyer, not knowing who else to go to. He then sends a social worker to the house to investigate. Rhett doesn't say a word because the Glasses keep him plenty spoiled with video games so he is oblivious. The social worker is fooled by the Glasses and this just causes more trouble for Ruby.
After a while Ruby began to realize that Terry's in it big with loan sharks and that the couple is only after the children's $4 million trust fund. Ruby then finds out that Terry was the cause of her parent's accident, and that it wasn't really an accident, but a murder. Ruby does everything in her power to save her brother and herself from this crazy, money hungry couple, but Terry will stop at nothing to get that trust fund, or else he dies.
