Ep 22. And the Big Gamble

Max and Caroline are in a bind when their cupcake business, Max's Homemade Cupcakes, starts to suffer from a lack of revenue, so they decide to take a gamble and get a loan to expand their brand and open a franchise location in Hollywood. While trying to convince their bank officer to loan them the money, they find out that the bigwig executive at the bank is extremely picky and needs some convincing before he will approve the loan. In order to get the loan approved, Max and Caroline decide to go to the executive's weekend house and prove their worth to him.

Once they arrive at his house, they find themselves surrounded by extravagance with the executive's house filled with expensive art pieces and high-tech security systems. Despite the setbacks, they begin to pitch their idea to him, but the executive is continuously distracted by his own affairs, leaving Max and Caroline worried about their future. While there, Max meets Randy, who happens to be the original founder of the bank, and the two of them hit it off right away.

Meanwhile, Han is left in charge of the cupcake shop when Sophie takes a break to participate in a reality television show. Han, determined to prove to Sophie that he can run the shop on his own, ends up facing a series of difficult challenges that threaten to ruin the business. Eventually, Han realizes that he can't handle everything on his own and enlists the help of Oleg and Earl to save the day.

Back at the executive's house, Max and Caroline meet a young woman who appears to be imprisoned within the house and come up with a plan to save her while also pleading their case to the picky executive. With the hostage crisis behind them and the executive beginning to warm up to their proposal, Max and Caroline head back to the bank hoping to finally get the loan they need.

As the episode draws to a close, we are left wondering whether Max and Caroline's big gamble will pay off, and whether Han's efforts will be enough to keep the cupcake business afloat. Will the girls be able to secure the funding they need to expand their cupcake empire to Hollywood? Only time will tell.
