Ep 3. Antoinette & Albert

Antoinette is your average 22-year-old who moved to Texas to attend college and pursue her dreams. However, after three years in the state, Antoinette has yet to make any significant connections that could help her make a name for herself in her career field. She eventually meets Albert online and is immediately drawn to his intelligence and charm. The two quickly begin a platonic relationship, with Antoinette relying on Albert for guidance and advice.

However, after a year of cyber friendship, Antoinette begins to crave a physical relationship with Albert. She suggests that the two finally meet in person, but Albert always has an excuse why he cannot. Antoinette eventually becomes frustrated and reaches out to the Catfish team to investigate her online friend.

Nev and Max then delve into their investigation by talking to Antoinette and Albert's friends and family members. Although they initially believe that Albert is a catfish, they discover that he is a real person with a disturbing past. Albert's real name is revealed to be James, and he has a history of preying on young girls from his church. He has been grooming Antoinette for over a year, leading her to believe that he is a respected mentor and role model in their community.

When the team confronts James, he denies any wrongdoing, insisting that he has only been trying to help Antoinette. However, when Nev and Max reveal that they have uncovered evidence that James has been using a fake identity online, James finally confesses to his predatory behavior. He admits that he has been using the internet to meet young girls and that he has been grooming Antoinette for a physical relationship.

In the aftermath of James' confession, Antoinette is shocked and devastated by the truth. She realizes how dangerous and manipulative James has been throughout their relationship and is grateful to have the support of her loved ones during this difficult time. Although the episode ends with Antoinette beginning to move forward and heal, it serves as a powerful reminder of the dangers of online predators and the importance of staying vigilant when making connections in the digital world.
