Ep 13. The Ball

Ray and Debra are hosting a family party at their house, celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. The party consists of both Ray's and Debra's families, and Ray's brother Robert joins in after his shift at the police department. Robert starts off the party on a bad note by ruining the centerpiece in the living room, but Debra tries to ignore it to keep the party going smoothly.

As the party goes on, Ray surprises Debra with a gift - a new vacuum cleaner that he bought as a present. However, Debra is not happy with the gift, which she thinks sends a message that he expects her to keep the house clean by herself. This leads to a fight between the two, in which Ray accuses Debra of being ungrateful.

Meanwhile, Robert has been searching for a date to bring to the party, and he ends up inviting a woman he met at a traffic stop earlier that day. Her name is Judy, and she is attracted to Robert's job as a police officer. However, as the night goes on, Judy starts to show some strange behavior, including getting too drunk and becoming obsessed with a decorative ball in the living room.

The ball in question is one that Debra found at a flea market and is very proud of, but Judy starts to believe that it is a valuable antique and tries to steal it. This leads to a confrontation between her and the rest of the family, which escalates into a full-blown argument.

Through it all, Ray and Debra continue to argue about the vacuum cleaner, with Debra accusing Ray of not caring about her feelings and only wanting to make himself look good. Ray eventually realizes that he has made a mistake and apologizes to Debra, and they finally make up.

In the end, Judy is kicked out of the party and Robert is left without a date, but the family is able to come together and celebrate Ray and Debra's anniversary after all the drama. They all sit down to look at some of Ray and Debra's old wedding photos, and Ray receives a reminder of why he fell in love with Debra in the first place.
