Zoe Hart, a young New York City doctor, continues to adjust to her new life in the small town of Bluebell, Alabama. In season 3 episode 6, titled "Family Tradition," Zoe is thrilled when her mother Candice Hart, a world-renowned surgeon, comes to visit her in Bluebell. However, their reunion is cut short when Candice insists on performing surgery on George, her ex-fiancé and Bluebell's beloved mayor.
Meanwhile, Lavon Hayes, the town's former football star and current mayor of Bluebell, is busy planning the annual Heritage Festival, a celebration of the town's rich history and culture. Lavon is determined to make this year's festival the best one yet, and he enlists the help of Wade Kinsella, a local bartender and small-business owner.
As the festival draws near, tensions rise between Lavon and Zoe as he struggles to balance his duties as mayor with his responsibilities as a friend. Zoe, determined to convince Candice to stay in Bluebell, makes a bold move that could potentially ruin the festival and her relationship with Lavon.
Elsewhere in Bluebell, Lemon Breeland, the town's resident southern belle and former fiancée of George Tucker, is struggling to come to terms with her recent breakup. Lemon's mother, Brick Breeland, urges her to move on and explore her options, but Lemon is determined to win back George's affections.
As the residents of Bluebell come together to celebrate their shared heritage, they are forced to confront their past mistakes and face an uncertain future. Will Zoe and Lavon be able to put their differences aside and work together to make the Heritage Festival a success? Will Lemon and George ever be able to reconcile their differences and rekindle their relationship? Find out in Hart of Dixie season 3 episode 6, "Family Tradition."
