In How I Met Your Mother's season 8 episode 22 titled "The Bro Mitzvah," Barney is preparing for his upcoming wedding to Robin by having a bachelor party with his closest friends. But instead of the traditional wild night out, Barney decides to have a "bro mitzvah" and become a man according to the Jewish faith.
Ted, Marshall, and Lily are initially hesitant about participating in the bro mitzvah, but eventually relent and go along with Barney's plans. They meet up with Barney's older brother James, who has planned the entire event and serves as the rabbi for the occasion.
The bros participate in various activities that symbolize the transition from boyhood to manhood, including a game of laser tag, a round of paintball, and a ceremony where they shave their faces clean.
As the day goes on, tensions rise as Barney and James reveal some long-held animosity towards each other. They eventually have it out in a heated argument, and Ted, Marshall, and Lily are left to pick up the pieces of their broken relationship.
Meanwhile, Robin is having her bachelorette party with her female friends. She is initially put off by the cutesy and tame nature of the party, but eventually decides to embrace it and have fun with her friends.
Towards the end of the episode, the bros and Robin's group meet up at McLaren's bar, where they all bond over drinks and dancing. Barney makes a heartfelt speech about his love for Robin and his excitement for their upcoming nuptials.
Despite the initial tension and drama, the episode ends on a positive note as the group celebrates their friendships and their upcoming weddings.
