As the Roloff family continues to navigate the changes that come with the departure of three of their children from the family farm, Little People, Big World season 14 episode 5, titled "It's Not Easy Letting Go," focuses on the emotional toll that these changes have taken on the family.

The episode opens with Matt and Amy reflecting on the changes that have occurred since their children have left home. Amy admits that she is struggling to adjust to their absence, as she has always defined herself as a mother and farmer. Though Matt acknowledges that he is also struggling, he encourages Amy to focus on the positive aspects of their new lifestyle, including more free time and less stress.

Meanwhile, Zach and Tori are working with their contractor to build an addition onto their house. As they explore different design options, they realize that the addition will require more space than they originally anticipated. Faced with the prospect of losing some of their backyard, they debate the merits of building up versus building out. Ultimately, they decide to go ahead with the larger addition, recognizing that it will provide more space for their growing family.

Over at the farm, Jeremy is trying to adjust to life on his own. As he shows his friend around the property, he admits that he misses his family and is struggling to keep up with the work that needs to be done. Though he is determined to succeed on his own, he starts to realize that he may need to ask for help from his family in order to make it work.

Back at Zach and Tori's house, they are dealing with a plumbing emergency. When their sink starts to back up, they call in a plumber to fix the problem. Though they are frustrated with the inconvenience, they are grateful that they have the resources to handle the situation without too much stress.

Finally, the episode concludes with Matt and Amy reflecting on the changes that they have experienced over the past few years. Though they admit that it has been difficult to let go of their children and the farm that they worked so hard to build, they are proud of the people that their children have become and are excited to see what the future holds for their family.

Overall, Little People, Big World season 14 episode 5 is a poignant exploration of the challenges that come with letting go of the past and embracing a new future. Through their struggles and triumphs, the Roloff family shows us that change is difficult, but ultimately necessary for personal growth and happiness.
