Ep 2. Audrey's Sister

Audrey's Sister is the second episode of the second season of the American television series Rules of Engagement. The episode originally aired on September 24, 2007, and was directed by Gail Mancuso.

The episode begins with Audrey complaining to Jeff about her sister, Barbara, coming to visit. Jeff is immediately excited about the prospect of seeing Barbara, as he finds her very attractive. However, Audrey is wary of her sister's motives for visiting. She believes that Barbara is trying to "one-up" her in their sibling rivalry.

When Barbara arrives, Jeff is unable to contain his attraction to her. He flirts with her constantly, which makes Audrey feel even more insecure. Audrey's fears are compounded when she learns that Barbara has recently been through a divorce. Audrey believes that Barbara is trying to steal Jeff away from her.

Meanwhile, Russell is trying to impress a beautiful young woman named Chloe, who he thinks is interested in him. However, he soon learns that she is only interested in his money. He decides to play along with her game, hoping to eventually have a real connection with her.

At dinner that night, Audrey feels threatened by Barbara's charm and wit. She tries to compete with her sister by telling more interesting stories, but ultimately fails. When Jeff admits to finding Barbara attractive, Audrey becomes even more insecure. She realizes that she needs to find a way to feel better about herself.

Audrey decides to talk to Barbara about her feelings, and they end up having a heart-to-heart conversation. Barbara reveals that she has always been jealous of Audrey's life, including her happy marriage to Jeff. Audrey is surprised to learn this, as she has always felt inferior to her sister. They both realize that they need to stop competing with each other and appreciate what they have.

Meanwhile, Russell takes Chloe to a fancy restaurant and pretends to be a millionaire. However, when the bill arrives, he is unable to pay and embarrasses himself in front of Chloe. She leaves in disgust, leaving Russell alone and broke.

Back at Audrey and Jeff's apartment, Barbara reveals that she has decided to move to New York City to start a new life. Audrey is sad to see her go, but happy that they were able to forge a closer relationship.

The episode ends with Jeff and Audrey cuddling on the couch, grateful for what they have. They realize that they don't need to compete with anyone else, as long as they have each other.
