Ep 15. Paradise Lost

SG-1 travels to a planet that is a paradise, described as a "garden of Eden". They notice that the temperature was always a comfortable 77 degrees Fahrenheit and there was no need for shelter or clothing. Jack O'Neill, the team's leader, starts to behave strange towards his team as they explore the planet. He starts to act as if he has been on the planet before and remembers the location of underground caves. They encounter a tribe of people, the Enkarans, who are living a life they never experienced before. The people tell SG-1 about their diminishing resources and their impending doom as the planet's star will become a supernova.

The team decides to help the people by figuring out how to save the Enkarans. They come up with a plan to use the stargate to transport the Enkarans to another planet that is habitable. Meanwhile, O'Neill continues to act strange and even has dreams that reveal his connection to the planet. The Enkarans decide to stay on the planet, believing that their goddess will save them. The team becomes frustrated with the Enkarans' unwillingness to leave and SG-1 come across Asgard, an alien race that has visited earth before. They explain to the Asgard that the Enkarans are in danger and need to be saved.

The Asgard agree to help by constructing a device that can transport the Enkarans to safety. While this is going on, O'Neill becomes even more connected to the planet and the Enkarans. He decides to stay on the planet to help the Enkarans, telling his team to save themselves. SG-1 tries to convince O'Neill to save himself but he refuses.

Meanwhile, the Asgard finish the device and transport the Enkarans to safety. The team realizes that they must find a way to save O'Neill. They discover that the planet's "goddess" is actually an alien who has been manipulating the Enkarans for her own agenda. She gets angry with SG-1 for interfering and attempts to stop them from leaving the planet by releasing a toxin that will kill everyone. The team manages to create an antidote in time and are able to escape.

They return to the stargate and find that O'Neill is still there. They remind him that he has a duty to his team and that he shouldn't sacrifice himself. O'Neill reluctantly agrees and they all return to Earth. Back at the SGC, O'Neill is still acting strange and Dr. Fraiser orders that he be examined. They discover that the alien had implanted a device that was slowly taking over his mind.

Overall, "Paradise Lost" is an intense episode that explores the lengths that SG-1 will go to save others. The team faces difficult decisions and must confront their own mortality in the process. The episode introduces a fascinating alien creature and the theme of paradise being an illusion. It's an action-packed episode with a lot of heart and some great performances from the cast.
