A British thriller television series, Strike Back, tells the story of two special forces operatives who always fight for justice. As the title suggests, the show depicts military action and adventure with a dose of drama and suspense. The first episode of the show "Episode 1" opens in Iraq, where British Special Forces Sergeant John Porter and his team are on a mission to rescue kidnapped British journalists.

Porter and his team successfully rescue the journalists and are on their way back when they are ambushed by a group of Iraqis. The mission goes wrong, and Porter's team is lost while trying to escape. The show's first episode takes the viewer on an action-packed journey as Porter struggles to get himself out of trouble and redeem himself after the failed mission.

Porter is then depicted back in England 7 years later, where he works as a military consultant. He receives information that suggests that one of his team members who he thought to be dead is, in fact, alive and being held captive in Iraq. Porter feels guilty about the failed mission that put his team in danger, and now he sees this as an opportunity to redeem himself by rescuing his friend.

The storyline in Strike Back's first episode takes place across both Iraq and the UK. Viewers of Strike Back will immediately appreciate the show's well-choreographed action scenes that keep the audience hooked right from the start. Furthermore, the show's use of actual military advisors adds to the realistic feel of the military scenes. From machine guns to helicopter chases, Strike Back's action sequences are sure to keep fans thoroughly entertained.

As Porter embarks on his mission to recover his friend, he meets up with Hugh Collinson, a former team member of his in the British Special forces. The two unite and seek out Rachel Dalton, head of the elite anti-terrorism unit called Section 20 in order to request assistance with the rescue mission.

Section 20 is a covert unit that responds to national security emergencies. When Porter seeks Dalton's help, she's reluctant, as she suspects there may be more to the situation than Porter is telling her. Nonetheless, when she discovers that Al-Zuhari, a terrorist believed to have links to a serious cyber-attack in the UK, has taken hostages in Iraq, Dalton decides that it's worth investigating Porter's claims.

The team enters Iraq to rescue the hostages after being briefed about the seriousness of the situation by Dalton. The action-packed scenes that follow are striking. The team's arrival in Iraq to rescue the hostages sets the tone for another round of high octane military action fans of Strike Back would come to expect from the show.

In the first episode of Strike Back, viewers are introduced to a new team of highly skilled operatives who fit into their respective roles quite well. More importantly, the characters are believably human; they each have their weak areas, with weaknesses and strengths that contribute to their relationships, making them appear much more realistic on-screen.

By the end of the episode, Porter's team is fighting for their lives as they try to recover the hostages held captive by Al-Zuhari. Without divulging spoilers, the episode concludes with an intense cliffhanger battle setting up viewers for the rest of the series.

Strike Back's season one, episode one successfully sets the tone for the whole series, giving the audience exactly what they need from an action-packed military drama. The show's blending of believable characters, realistic action sequences, and fast-paced storytelling are each uniquely crafted to entertain the show's fans. The show's creators have done an outstanding job with the first episode of the show, and it's very easy to see why Strike Back has an impressive following.
