Ep 1. They Don't Call it the Amazing Race for Nothin'!

As the seventeenth season of The Amazing Race begins, eleven teams set out from Glendora, California, on a sprint to Boston, Massachusetts. From the starting line, the teams run towards a group of waiting Ford Fiesta vehicles to receive their first clue. Their destination? The Logan International Airport in Boston. As teams race to book their flights and navigate their way through the airport, they soon find that one team has encountered a setback when they discover that their passports have gone missing.

When the teams arrive in Boston, they must make their way to the USS Constitution Museum, where they will find their next clue. Teams are tasked with solving a riddle that will help them locate the museum. Once they arrive, teams are faced with a Roadblock. In this task, one member of each team must successfully haul a 35-pound cannonball across the length of the museum's courtyard and onto a ship, a feat that proves to be a difficult challenge.

Once the Roadblock is complete, teams are given their next clue, which directs them to search a series of marked vans for one with their name on it. Inside the van, they find a GPS system with directions to their next destination: Salem, Massachusetts. Once they arrive in Salem, teams are given a Detour, which requires them to choose between two tasks: "Light Brigade" or "Silver Service." In "Light Brigade," teams must locate a set of tarot cards scattered throughout Salem and deliver them to a fortune-teller. In "Silver Service," teams must successfully perform a complicated tea ceremony for a group of judges, including pouring and serving tea properly.

Next, teams must navigate their way through the streets of Salem to find a virtual reality game in a local arcade. Once inside, they must choose a game and complete it successfully in order to receive their next clue. From there, teams must travel to the Pit Stop at an old castle in Gloucester, Massachusetts. However, as they approach, one team encounters a major setback that threatens their hopes of advancing in the competition.

As the first episode of season 17 of The Amazing Race comes to a close, viewers are left excited for what's to come in this thrilling season of adventure and competition.
