The Nerdist television show is a pop culture favorite that represents the geek culture that has grown in popularity over the last few years. The Nerdist originally started out as a podcast that captured a wide and vocal audience since its inception. The successes of their productions lead to the creation of The Nerdest Network that creates all of its own original content. The podcast was spun off to the TV show and kept the same interview format.

The creator and leader is Chris Hardwick. He has been a stand-up comedian and comic actor. He joined together with his friends and fellow comics Jonah Ray and Matt Mira.

There have been eight episodes produced to date of the The Nerdist television show. In each episode Hardwick, Ray, and Mira will interview and perform some improvisational comedy with the guests. The list of celebrity guest have included Comedian Craig Ferguson, Matt Smith, Wil Wheaton, Weird Al Yankovic, Thomas Dolby, Simon Pegg, Danica McKellar, Garfunkel and Oates, Damon Lindelof, Kumail Nanjani, David Tennant and Allison Brie.

The guys typically fawn over certain guest's contributions to the nerd culture. They spend a lot of time with Wheaton discussing the behind the scenes activity from his time in the Star Trek television shows and movies. They discuss the musical creations of Weird Al Yankovic and the female comic song duo of Garfunkel and Oates. Simon Pegg discusses his most popular movie Shawn of the Dead. Danica McKeller goes over her time on the family show, The Wonder Years', and also discuss her magazine photo shoots and her label of genius mathematician.

Each episode of the show has some type of them. One episode is set at the world famous San Diego Comic-Con and another was a special year in review episode. One episode focused on popular toys and games. An entire episode was dedicated to all of the female nerds in the viewing audience.
