Ep 17. Curse

Cassie and the members of the Secret Circle continue to deal with the aftermath of their recent encounters with the witch hunter Eben, who is now dead but his curse still lingers. The curse falls on Cassie's grandmother Jane, who is gravely ill and the only hope to save her is to find a crystal skull that has been missing for centuries. The skull is said to have the power to heal any sickness, but it's still unclear where exactly it is.

Cassie and her friends decide to split up and search for clues about the skull's whereabouts. Diana, Adam, and Melissa head to a nearby antiques store, where they find an old map that leads to an abandoned Native American village. Meanwhile, Cassie and Jake visit Jane's friend Calvin, who reveals that the skull was hidden in a secret chamber in Chance Harbor's first church.

As the group sets out to find the skull, they realize that they've been followed by the witch hunters, who are still after them. The witch hunters arrive and a tense confrontation ensues, but luckily the Secret Circle manage to defeat them and continue on their mission. When they reach the church, they find the secret chamber and the skull, but it's guarded by a powerful curse that only Cassie can overcome.

After some hesitation, Cassie uses her magic to break the curse and claim the skull. They race back to Jane's house and use the skull to heal her, but the experience leaves Cassie drained and weakened. Despite their victory, the Secret Circle realizes that they are still far from safe, and that their fight against the witch hunters is far from over.

Throughout the episode, we see the characters continue to navigate the complex relationships and alliances that have formed as a result of their supernatural powers. There is tension between Cassie and Adam, who is still struggling with his feelings for her despite being in a relationship with Diana. Melissa begins to feel left out and wonders if she still has a place in the group, while Jake becomes more involved in the fight against the witch hunters.

As the curse takes its toll on Cassie and she struggles to recover from using so much magic, the stage is set for even more dramatic confrontations in future episodes. The Secret Circle continues to be a thrilling, suspenseful series that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats as they follow the adventures of this group of young witches.
