Kiss the Girls

Kiss the Girls is a 1997 thriller film where a serial killer has captured many young women and threatens their lives. However, one of these ladies has seized the chance to escape. A detective and forensic psychologist from Washington, D.C. named Alex Cross has to go to Durham, North Carolina in a state of fear and confusion because his niece Naomi has gone missing. The local police clue Cross in on all the young women who have recently vanished. Soon after that, one of the missing women is found dead and stuck to a tree in a forest that seems like the middle of no where. Later, another young man woman named Kate McTiernan is taken from her home. Kate wakes up from a drugged state and figures it out that she is being held captive by a man who shields his face and calls himself Casanova. She soon discovers the other missing women and puts it together that she is one of them that is trapped in this place. She manages to escape by jumping off a cliff and into a river, but is critically hurt. When she heals and is able to talk, she vows to help Cross find the killer and his niece. The twist is that Cross has analyzed the captor, meaning that he will not kill his victims unless they fail to cooperate. They find clues that lead them to Los Angeles, this location is significant because there have been very many kidnappings and murders here and they all belong to a man known as the Gentleman Caller. Cross and Kate come here because they hope to get information from this man, but the man escapes and is unable to help. They return to North Carolina empty handed, and Cross unexpectedly discovers the exact underground route to the place the girls are being held. This information reveals to them that they have found the man who pretends to be Casanova. It appears that Casanova has a partner, and while Casanova escapes, the teenage partner is left by himself to be arrested and take the blame. Cross finds all the missing women, including Naomi. Kate and Cross have actually started a romance together and she brings up the courage to ask him out to dinner at her place. Cross is getting ready at his place for their romantic dinner, while the real Casanova who appears to be Detective Nick Ruskin (a man who helped Cross with the information about the missing women) tells the the police officers surrounding Kate's home that they can leave, and takes the opportunity to murder her. He interrupts Kate while she is preparing dinner, but Kate is smart realizes what is happening. She tries to escape from him, but he takes out a gun to frighten her and warns her that he will kill her if she does not obey him. At the same time, Cross arrives and does everything in his power to take down Ruskin. Ruskin's last defense is to take out a lighter and threaten to burn down the house since the oven is on. Cross is trying to shoot at Ruskin and shoots though a milk carton. However, one of the bullets has reached Ruskin and kills him.
