Pete 'n' Tillie

This exceptionally well written and well acted romance movie stars Walter Matthau and Pete and Carol Burnett as his love interest, Tillie. Two middle aged people who seem to share little in common reluctantly venture on a blind date together, and a life changing personal relationship slowly blossoms between the pair. The film displays Pete playing piano music. It benefits greatly from remarkable screen chemistry between the two leads. Screenwriter Julius J. Epstein received a prestigious nomination for writing the film, which in addition to the main characters, also stars Geraldine Page, Barry Nelson, Lee H. Montgomery and Rene Auberjonois.
