Based on the John Grisham novel of the same name, The Chamber is a thrilling drama full of human emotion and the legacy left by racism in the American South starring Gene Hackman, Chris O'Donnell and Faye Dunaway. Adam Hall (O'Donnell) arrives at the Mississippi State Penitentiary to meet the grandfather he never knew (Hackman). With the hopes of being granted an appeal for the death sentence, set to be fulfilled in four weeks, that hangs over his grandfather for the race-based bombing that he, as a former member of the Ku Klux Klan was convicted for. Can he, and why does he want to save this venomous and unrepentant killer?

Initially it is unclear why the educated young man would be fighting for the life of his hate filled relation but his motives become increasingly clear as the story unfolds.
